Teachers Make a God Damn Difference

Classes start up again today. Not having to drive to UCLA twice a week for three months has been nice. But…I’m ready to be back in front the classroom.  Now that I’m teaching regularly again, I don’t know how I ever managed to go those 10 years without teaching.

As a teacher, I’ve totally been asked the “you’re a teacher, what do you make?” question, so you can’t help but love Taylor Mali’s response to that question. So when this youtube clip came in my email on Sunday from Seth Godin, I had to share it: here, on Facebook, on Twitter, in my personal blog..you name it, I posted it!

While teachers might not make much money (YET!), he’s right, they do make a God Damn Difference!!

How could they not?

You can also buy his book of other poems on teaching, What Learning Leaves, too.
