Well, I did it.
Or I should say, I nearly did it (I still have some formatting to do).
You see, I haven’t been around much because I’ve spent the last three or so weeks focused on a HUGE project for one of my other websites. Basically, I’ve been working on creating a series of holiday gift guides for ConstantChatter (they’ll go live late Thanksgiving day).
More precisely, I’ve been working on nothing BUT those gift guides. I’ve created and graded my class assignments and updated my Success for Solopreneurs Facebook page from time to time, but not much else.
When will I learn?
This last year, we did our first version of gift guides. Of course last year, while I was smart enough to start earlier (I had no choice I was heading to Ireland in early November), I also gave myself a much bigger project. I didn’t just do gift guides, I also held daily giveaways. Which mean, for 50+ days, I had something to do every day. Then after that, I had a LOT of packaging and shipping to do.
I swore I would never do it that way again. And I haven’t.
Instead, we now have someone else ship the winning prizes out for us. I mean, if they were willing to ship them to me (talk about a messy apartment) then they would be fine shipping them out to the winner directly. And no one has complained since.
But…(and there’s always a but…)
This year I got a much later start and didn’t exactly anticipate the nearly 1000 product pitches I received in response to my HARO pitch (if you had any doubts, yes, HARO is that good). I also didn’t think through just how many items I’d include in each gift guide. So while most websites (and magazines) include maybe 10 – 20 items max, I somehow ended up with a multiple lists totally nearly 150 products!!!
Yes, that is insane thankyouforasking.
So next year or well, from here on out, things will be different. I will learn from my mistakes this year.
And isn’t that what running a business is all about? It’s not just about doing things right from the get go. It’s about not being afraid to take a risk and learning from our mistakes. So all in all, I’m calling it a success. So be sure to check it out…you just might find that perfect gift for someone special.
Oh yeah, that BIG sale?
My favorite marketer and internet rockstar, Naomi Dunford from IttyBiz is having a kickass clearance sale on her Online Business School. Normally, she sells this extensive, everything you need to get you started with your (online) business program for $397. But she’s in the process of separating the program into individual modules that she will sell for $77 each.
So, in the meantime, or until this Friday, whichever comes first (that’s the day after Thanksgiving in case you missed it) she’s selling Online Business School for only $97!!!
Yes, you read that correctly. She’s selling her Online Business School program for only $97. That’s a 75% discount!!
The price on the page still says $397 but when you click through to buy it you get it for 75% off (she promises). And she’s so cool, she’s even got a great deal (on top of the killer price) to over you…
In light of our Can’t Afford It blog post from last week we’ve received quite a few emails asking for payment plans. We started dealing with them individually and then realized… that’s what crazy people do. So, if you can’t afford the whole $97 now, here’s what I want you to do:
1. Send money via PayPal to naomi@ittybiz.com. Add a note that says OBS Payment Plan, Email Coming.
2. Send an email to ninjas@ittybiz.com outlining how you’re going to pay us. Please put OBS Payment Plan in the subject line.
3. We’ll send you OBS. Probably right away, but maybe as late as Sunday depending on volume.
4. You pay the rest when you said you would — or maybe sooner because now you’ve got OBS and you’re rich like the Pet Shop Boys.
