One of my favorite bloggers, Havi Brooks over at Fluent Self has gotten in the habit of sitting down regularly and creating some Itty Bitty, Very Personal ads. Basically, instead of writing that personal ad in hopes of gaining the dating partner or future spouse, you write an ad for what you want (whatever you want, however you want it), put it out there and let it go, seeing what comes back to you.
I’m a huge believe in setting intentions, using affirmations and asking the Universe for what I want. Looking back though, I think more often than not, I failed to get specific and put some actual action behind the request. So I thought I’d give this a try and put it out there.
Now I’m choosing to put this on my business blog and not my personal blog for a reason. You see, like many women I seem to have some challenges in defining my worth financially and allowing myself to receive. For example, back when I was a teacher, I remember saying something like “it’s okay if teachers don’t make a lot of money, I’m doing it for the love of teaching and being able to inspire those kids.” Another time, after getting my Masters in Counseling, I remember saying to a friend that was in retail management something like “wow, how sad that even with a Masters degree I won’t make as much as you make without any degree.” And no, that wasn’t meant as a slam to her…it was just me claiming something that I thought was true.
So while my Itty Bitty, Very Personal Ad might just seem a bit, well, personal, it is indeed related to my business and my desire to take my business to the level that I know it can be. And I feel that this is a great activity that any solopreneur or small business can benefit from. Just imagine where we could all be if we created an Very Personal Ad to attract our next wave of clients or customers.
So my Itty Bitty, Very Personal Ad will be focused on being open to receiving the abundance and prosperity that I know is out there for me.
What I Want: I’m ready to break through some pretty hefty thought blocks regarding money, that I seem to have going on. I’m looking for an intuitive or healer than can get me to break these (seeming) monetary blocks and help me to rebuild…better, stronger and more open to attracting and receiving!
How it Could Happen: Someone I know might introduce me to this person. I could just bump into this person while out and about. Someone might point out a book or website or audio or whatever that can get me started on my own, knowing that the right person will come along when the time is right. You know what they say…the teacher will come when the student is ready.
My Commitment: I’m willing to be open to any signs or messages that might come my way. I’m also willing to do some leg work on my own by spending a little time with myself (and my “guys”) and setting the intention to make the change, remove the blocks and start the rebuilding process. I wholly intend, here and now, to release these blocks and reprogram my thoughts…for the good of all involved 
I’d suggest you take a few moments and write one yourself. You might be surprised by what you might find knocking on your door.
