There’s a lot that I can do here on WordPress. There’s even more though that I can’t do, because 1) I just don’t know and 2) I don’t care to learn how. This is especially important when it comes to all the back end sort of stuff. Me, I love WordPress because of all the plugins and the ease of tweaking the site using said plugins. My husband, he’s my behind the scenes, coding guy.
But, if you do want to dig in and get dirty learning the back end, then here is a great site to help you. They’ve scoured the web and have come up with what they consider to be the Top 50 WordPress Tutorials. There’s some good stuff there, but consider yourself warned, it can be a bit advanced.
And for those of you that a bit more visual in your learning, be sure to check out WordPress.TV for video tutorials. This is something that I’ve been meaning to get around to creating, but knowing that there’s already an awesome site out there with great information, I may not even bother. They’ve got it all covered from the basics like installing plugins, to the more complex, behind-the-scenes coding. Good stuff.
And then for those of you that are more auditory learners, you migiht like to check out Cathy Perkins (@wordpresswizard) for her weekly WordPress teleseminars every Wednesday. She covers a specific topic each week and leaves both the MP3 and the action guide up for download. She’s had some great topics these past few weeks. Again, some are a bit more advanced, but many are very useful tweaks and tools.
ETA: Here are an additional 100 WordPress tutorials. They cover it all from the most basic to the most advanced. Really, there’s no excuse for not learning all there is to know about WordPress.
So are you ready to get down and dirty with your blog? I challenge you to learn at least one new blogging trick this week.
