Setting Up Your WordPress Blog for the Search Engines

As we discussed last week, sometimes your WordPress blog settings can be set in ways you’d rather they not be set.  I don’t know about you, but I want my blog to be indexed by the search engines (although there are some very good, often personal reasons to not have your blog indexed). I want folks to find my posts when they search for topics I write about.

Just like changing your comment permissions, changing your search engine and privacy settings are just as simple – and just as quick.  Take a moment and double-check that your settings are set the way you’d like them to be.

Go to your dashboard

Go to the upper right hand corner to SETTINGS

Once on the SETTINGS page, look in the top white bar for PRIVACY (5th from the left) and click

Once in PRIVACY edit your settings as you wish and click save at the bottom.  You can see my settings in the image below.
