- sign up for your free Google Analytics account (if you use Gmail or AdWords, it’s the same login info)
- get the tracking code from Google Analytics
- put the tracking code on your website
- let Google confirm you did it all correctly

Know that you can also do this with your Wordpress blog-site – just make sure you drop the code in somewhere before the body tag (usually the header or footer works best). Or you can use a Wordpress Plugin (though I didn’t find it to be nearly as accurate as installing the actual analytics)
